Hello dear friends, I am headmaster June. It is my sincerest wish to
welcome you to come to our Mandin Focus in Beijing and to assit
you in both your study of Mandarin and your introduction to my
cultural heritage.

Ms. Hough, director of the school is a well established teacher and also a quest professor of the China Foreign Affairs University. She has gained extensive teaching experiences by teaching Americans, (some examples, diplomats from the US embassy, company staff from Pricewater House, employees from Airbus etc.) She has taught people from nearly all of the European countries, and Australia as well.
As is a linguist. Ms Hough gained two masters degree, one is in International Politics; the other is Chinese Linguistics. She has worked as researcher and traveled to many countries around the world, thus has gained a deep understanding of the diversity of culture which is part of every language. Ms. Hough’s vision is that her school MandarinFocus is organized to encompass both the Chinese language and culture. Her hope is to immerse students in the culture and give them the tool of language to return to China and explore the almost 10 million square meters of China’s vast cultural territory.
Different cultures are fascinating, and she loves Chinese culture, and would love to devote her school to spreading the Chinese language and its rich culture of more than 5000 years to the world one student at a time.
She would also like to take this opportunity to express her gratitude’s here to the people who have helped her during all these years.
Director of North American Operations: John P.Bordonaro
Mr Bordonaro is an accomplished Scientist and Business Man. He has been involved in scientific
discovery and business development in the USA for nearly 30 years. Mr Bordonaro will be helping us
develope our North American markets. He will be available to answer questions and take orders from
our North American customers. Mr Bordonaro is also the author and master of our web site. Please e-

Our teachers:
Mrs. HOU Ye - Fluent in Chinese and highly proficient to fluent in both Japanese and English, Mrs.
Hou has worked as a journalist for the Beijing Review for many years before being sent to Japan where
she also worked as a journalist. She has excellent skills in semantics and practical uses of the Chinese
language.
Mr. YUAN Yang - A graduate from Beijing university, Mr Yuan has a passion for the Chinese language
and culture. He is extremely well read on Chinese culture, history and philosophies and has an excellent
grasp of English, making for a rich and vivid teaching style.
Ms. LI Aihua - A famous musician on the Chinese ancient musical instrument, the Guzheng zither, Ms Li
began her music studies from an early age. Ms Li does not play with her fingers but rather with her heart
taking her listeners to a new dimension of peace and inner repose. She not only teaches music but a deep
feeling towards oriental civilizations.

Students are encouraged to utilize their teacher’s knowledge. Through written submissions and comments your teacher will be able to provide the quickest and best solution to any learning obstacles you may encounter.
Advisory board members:
Prof. CHANG Jingyu (66) - A professor of Chinese Linguistics for 40 years who specialises in Chinese lexicon and semantics. A professor in the Beijing Language and Cultural University for 30 years, Prof Chang has published many books on syntax and pragmatics and has also been invited to lecture in Japan, Taiwan and Vietnam. He has also won fame for his calligraphy and paintings.
Prof. CHEN Yinfu - After 30 years in his field, Prof Chen is considered a genius in Chinese brush paintings, calligraphy and poetry. Although he has a busy schedule with the art academy of China, Prof. Chen is willing to provide his expertise in an advisory capacity for the college, for which we are extremely grateful.
Prof. WEI Zhuang (46) - He is an expert on teaching Chinese as a second foreign language. Prof Wei has majored in the Chinese language for more than 20 years, during which time he has taught overseas and explored and refined new and practical methods of imparting Mandarin to beginners as quickly as possible. His lively and effective teaching methods are the example of our teaching concept and we are privileged to have him supervising our quality control procedures.
Prof WANG Enbao(68) - He has researched and taught on the history of the Chinese language for more than 40 years. A graduate from Beijing University in the early 60s, Prof WANG has been persistent in his studies of the history of Chinese language. His knowledge of the language is incontestable and his instructions on our teaching are enlightening. He was invited to teach in some of the European Universities. Profound teaching experiences have won him so much respect and his participation to our school is our fortune, and we feel very much honored to have him here.
Prof. WANG Enhong - An expert in phonetics. Prof, Wang has a PHd from Beijing University for Chinese linguistics and Applied Linguistics . Her melodious teaching would make you feel the real wonders of the Chinese language.
Prof. WEN Quan (40 ) - Dean of the Dept. of the Communication Studies, China Foreign Affairs Univerisity. A Tibetan Chinese, Prof. Wen speaks Tibetan, Mandarin Chinese and excellent English. He was a visiting scholar in Maryietta College in Ohio, US. The son of prestigious Tibetan Buddhist, Prof. Wen studied Chinese history for his bachelor’s degree. As a visiting scholar in the Maryietta College Prof. Wen earned a Master’s Degree researching American culture. He will be the college’s specialist on history, the comparison of cultures and on Tibetan Buddhism
